Product Madness is looking for a Head of Art to oversee, inspire and lead the entire art department in the London office and its satellite operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing art teams, each dedicated to a specific project. You will directly oversee several Art Directors each of which run a team of 3-6 artists ranging from junior to senior and of varying roles including UI, 3D, illustrators, technical artists, marketing artists and more.
On a tactical level, you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the entire art department. You will need to communicate and coordinate with your team leads as well as your counterparts in the Product and Development departments. You will need to know how to inspire creativity, mediate discussions, solve problems, provide marching orders and extract the most of each member of your team. On a strategic level, you will need to ensure the continued growth and success of the Art Department specifically and Product Madness as a whole. Lobbying for, and implementing, department wide initiatives which will benefit the team and the company. These can include pivoting on tech stacks, bringing in specific talent and skills sets, lobbying for conferences, training initiatives and more. You will be responsible for the staffing of the Art department as well as the departmental structure, budgeting and career progression planning.
